Note: This Madfilm Meetup is on Election Day; please make sure to vote on November 4!

Join us for another Madfilm Meetup at Sundance Cinemas Madison as we check out the sneak preview of the 35mm print of Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated Interstellar starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain.

This is a sneak preview a day before the official opening of Interstellar, so we’re giving you a heads up now so that you can buy your tickets for a screening that will likely sell out. You can purchase tickets online at the Sundance Cinemas website.

(We have our tickets in Row F if you want to sit near us.)

The Madison Film Forum wants you to stream one great film every week, attend at least one great film every month, and meet people doing the same. We don’t sponsor these screenings, we just support them by showing up.

Update: 11/1/14:

Reviews are decidedly mixed, but in that interesting way that makes you want to see it for yourself. Interstellar currently has a 74% Freshness Rating at Rotten Tomatoes. We have collected some of the reviews so far at our Madison Film Forum Flipboard Magazine.

Review highlights include:

“Reaffirms Nolan as the premier big-canvas storyteller of his generation, more than earning its place alongside The Wizard of Oz, 2001, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Gravity in the canon of Hollywood’s visionary sci-fi head trips.” Scott Foundas, Variety

“Whatever his strengths may be, Nolan lacks the human touch.” Stephanie Zacharek, Village Voice

“Double-domed and defiantly serious, Interstellar is a must-take ride with a few narrative bumps.” Richard Corliss, Time

“May represent an apotheosis of sorts, as it illustrates the very best and the very worst of Nolan as a writer-director.” Alonso Duralde, The Wrap
